Between 2023 and 2024, Fair4All Finance delivered three leadership development programmes for leaders across the community finance sector. The programmes were designed to strengthen leadership capability across the sector.

To assess the impact of the programmes, we commissioned Shared Intelligence to undertake an independent evaluation. The evaluation examined the extent to which the programmes contribute to positive outcomes at individual, organisational and sector level, and identified lessons and recommendations for future leadership development activity.

The evaluation found that:

  • The programmes successfully delivered their learning objectives and enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills in areas including strategic planning, organisational culture, change management, marketing and consumer insight
  • Participants reported positive impacts at individual and organisational level, including increased confidence, improved leadership practice, stronger strategic planning, enhanced marketing capability and better knowledge sharing within their organisations.
  • One of the strongest outcomes was the opportunity for leaders from across the community finance sector to connect, collaborate and build lasting professional networks, with some participants exploring new partnerships and ways of working together.
  • The evaluation identified opportunities to strengthen future programmes through enhanced participant targeting, additional opportunities to apply learning in practice, and a greater focus on sector priorities such as AI, governance and mergers.
